Back into Blogging & Cooking

I have been reading the Ny Times online alot lately especially the food section.
Last night I made Mark Bittman's Zucchini Pear Puree Soup loaded with thyme.
I think thyme is one of my new fave herbs, along with cilantro and dill - hooray for them as Mr. T would say.

We met with the lady from spain ^_^ last night and the menu is gonna be bangin'.
Probably since we will be making it up and designing it. Cool Huh?
She was wide open to my ideas and I think it will be elegant. The catch is that we may have the cake delivered so it can be eaten as dessert after the meal. Better than champagne, cake and then dinner right? Things are shifting about like crazy. I can't help that I am doing this without advice the whole way through. But between that, and the fact the bra lady said the merrywidow will be in Saturday, I can't worry.

Ok maybe a little.

So my 1st boyfriend ever is getting married next May in Aruba.
T doesn't have a passport. I think I will go without him if I have to.
When else will I have a chance to take a safe trip to Aruba?
Besides, it's Jimmy and he's my oldest friend on the planet. I love that guy.
He's my last link to New Jersey, and I wanna celebrate and have a vacation somewhere!

My hotel is booked for our wedding night, that's another thing to cross off the list.
The boy/girl party is supposed to be next saturday, and I think the plans are falling apart.
As long as I can get drunk and loud with my friends, I think that is all I have the energy for at this point. I am nothing but tired and lethargic and ready to sleep.

Work is annoying and stupid.
Back to it.

Even less than a month!

So the latest is that my bridal shower happened. Look how cute my mom is:
It was a spa themed shower and she's wearing a heated neck roll. The lady running it (Ms. Joy) had a hell of a time getting me and my rowdy girlfriends to behave. I had invited Gail to come, it's silly not to have your MIL present at your bridal shower, but she was sick and didn't come!
So I said the word bitch and a few euphemisms for the male parts a few times to liberate myself.
I couldn't help it.

*The cake color swatch has been dropped off to the cake maker's (Publix)
*My shoes are dyed and gorgeous, and presently locked up safely in my trunk
*Tonight we meet with Maria, the lady from Spain (where the after dinner is being hosted) for menu picking ^_^
*The merrywidow bra lady has found my foundation and it should be here today THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! That was really crappy. Waiting a month and 10 days for something promised in 2 weeks. I forgive her.
*The music is in process. I think after we tie the knot a Pavement song with a chorus of, " Bring on the Major Leagues" will play.
*Our Song - is Jersey Girl by Tom Waits ^_^ of course!
*The rest of the music is more difficult to figure out, and I still don't know what I am walking to.
*The ceremony "sermon" or script needs to be picked out and I must write up my vows.
*Gail is coming over to help me with my dress alterations this weekend
*I need a haircut and a veil.

The back to school vest is in Purgatory. I should have life lined and I can't seem to get it back online. It will have to take a number.

I finally made the VWAV Brooklyn Pad Thai and LOVE IT!
Here are some pics of that ^_^

Last night I made pumpkin/acorn squash curried soup, after the idea on 101cooks.com, but haven't taken pics. We ate it. My mods on that were some turbinado sugar, splash of maple syrup, cayenne pepper & love. It was delicious. Believe.

ONE MONTH LEFT!!!

So yeah, the cable has been great, and I am addicted to Knitty Gritty and LA Ink.
But enough of that, one month till we get hitched.
I cant tell anyone how much I have cried just trying to get it together.
The restaurant we love is opening especially for us, and I hope everyone comes. It should be super fun and fantastic. My merrywidow is MIA, my shoes were jacked up and the new pair is in for inspection. The bridal shower is this Sunday and my rents are coming to town! (which rules)
My girl posse' at work is coming to celebrate some mimosa and spa goodness at the shower.
I called and told my MIL she needs to come, I think she can handle it.
Even though the word bitch freaks her out and she doesn't talk openly about sex like the rest of us, including my mom. Leave the prude tude at home lady!

My grandma wants to come to my wedding.
She fell and hit her head and hasn't been home - constantly at hospitals and rehabs. Unfortunately she still cant walk, so my dad is trying to roll her out if possible. That really would be terrific, and I am hoping that will happen.

Work is work. I still don't know the story about whether the job will still be here by xmas, and quite frankly I don't give a shit. Too much to work on and figure out.

The back to school vest is being ripped back more than I like. I didn't lifeline the increases and totally cocked it up. Instead of increasing in one st, I did for two one either side of the marked st.
Not so great, and I cant seem to get it back online. I've ripped back almost to the ribbing which sucks it. I also ordered and got the Wool of the Andes in the Amber color way for the v-neck in Fitted Knits. I won't be able to do anything though till probably after Thanksgiving, since I am working multiple weekends and meetings til then. Perhaps I can bang out the sweater before it gets cold.

Other than all of this, I am excited and need to:
*write vows
*make T rent his tux already
*work up the music playlist and pick a song to walk to
*speak with the notary about leaving "God" out
*drop a swatch for our blue cake ;)
um,um,um,
yeah plenty of stuff.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!
